Makes 6 pommes d’amour
Preparation
- Wash the apples and remove the stems
- Push a small wooden stick into each apple
- Melt the butter in a casserole on low heat
- Add the sugar, lemon juice, water, cinnamon, and cloves Be careful not to
- break the cinnamon stick
- Mix well in order to dissolve the sugar into the liquid
- Reduce the mixture to a lightly caramelized consistency. The consistency should be between a syrup and caramel
- Remove from heat
- Remove the cinnamon and the cloves
- Dip each apple into the syrup
- Let the syrup cool and harden on each apple with the stick pointing upwards to grab easily
