01.01.2003 -dessert - chocolate Chocolate Easter eggs with Nutella « Why not make your own Easter eggs? It isn't hard; you just need some Flexiplan molds or egg shells, although, obviously, they'll be smaller. » Send to a friend Print Send your commentIngredients
for 2 chocolate eggs:
- 3 oz (85 g) dark baking chocolate
- 1/3 cup (85 g) butter
- 3/8 cup (85 g) superfine sugar
- 3 oz (85 g) ground hazelnuts
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 tbsp Nutella (chocolate paste)
- 2 oz (65 g) milk chocolate (decoration)
Preparation
- Cut chocolate into pieces and melt in a pan with butter, making sure that the temperature remains low
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C)
- Separate egg whites from yolks
- In mixing bowl, whip yolks and sugar until mixture turns pale
- Beat egg whites + pinch of salt until very stiff
- In frying pan, toast ground hazelnuts, then, once cooled, mix with melted chocolate, then add yolk-sugar mixture
- Add stiffly beaten egg whites, taking care not to deflate them
- Fill molds and cook 15 min. Allow to cool before unmolding
- Spread with Nutella and join the two egg halves, and, if necessary, hold together with ribbons.
SuggestionYou can also coat eggs with raspberry coulis. I also like adding Cubeb pepper to the egg, sugar and chocolate mixture
