Chocolate fondue with Grand Marnier

Ingredients

Serves 4


Utensils

  • Whisk or electric beater
  • Fondue pot and heater
  • Fondue forks

Preparation

  • Beat whole egg in a large bowl, adding 1/3 cup (100 ml) milk and sugar
  • Then cut brioche into cubes Add brioche cubes to bowl, letting bread soak in preparation for a few minutes
  • Then brown brioche pieces in butter in a pan
  • Bring to a boil remaining ¾ cup milk in a small saucepan
  • Remove saucepan from heat and stir in chocolate pieces, cocoa powder and
  • Grand Marnier, a little at a time Stir well until mixture is homogenous and smooth


Presentation

  • Pour mixture into fondue pot Place pot over heater and spear brioche pieces onto forks, dipping them in hot chocolate

Suggestion

You may substitute fresh fruit for brioche pieces - pineapple, strawberries, cherries, nectarines, etc.

Suggested drink or wines

Serve with a glass of iced Cointreau or good champagne
